3 Bold Steps to Embrace God’s Kingdom This Week and Defeat Unbelief

To embrace God’s Kingdom this week is to step into something real, demanding, and alive. The Bible is often treated like a book of advice or ancient wisdom, yet it stands alone in human history. Its pages were written over centuries by many authors, in different lands, under different rulers, yet they form one unified message.

The Scriptures reveal God’s authority, His promises, and His Kingdom, which is not waiting in the future but pressing into the present. Unbelief survives when truth is kept at a distance, but faith grows when truth is obeyed. God’s Kingdom calls for action now, not admiration later.

Step One: Submit to God’s Authority Through Repentance

God’s Kingdom begins where self-rule ends. Repentance is not sorrow alone. It is a decision to turn from being your own authority and to place your life under God’s rule. Unbelief often hides behind delay, pride, or the idea that change can wait. Repentance removes those hiding places. Jesus spoke with urgency because the moment mattered.

“Repent, and believe in the gospel.” -Mark 1:15

This call was direct. God’s Kingdom does not grow where hearts resist correction. When repentance begins, unbelief weakens because truth is no longer being negotiated. Submission opens the door to clarity, and clarity brings faith.

Step Two: Order Your Life Around God’s Kingdom

Faith is revealed by what you seek first. God’s Kingdom does not exist alongside competing priorities. It claims the center. Many struggle with unbelief because their lives are built around fear, provision, or control. God addresses this by calling His people to trust His order.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” -Matthew 6:33

Seeking God’s Kingdom first is an act of trust. It reorders decisions, habits, and desires. When God’s rule takes precedence, anxiety loses authority. Faith grows when obedience reshapes daily life.

Step Three: Strengthen Faith Through Obedient Action

Unbelief survives when faith remains theoretical. Scripture is meant to be lived. Hearing without obedience creates self-deception and spiritual stagnation.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” -James 1:22

Obedience is not perfection. It is movement. Each act of obedience builds confidence in God’s truth. Faith becomes real when it is practiced. Unbelief fades when experience confirms what God has spoken.

Faith That Pleases God Requires Trust and Pursuit

God calls for faith rooted in trust and pursuit. His Kingdom is revealed to those who seek Him with intention and sincerity. Unbelief collapses when faith is exercised with purpose.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” -Hebrews 11:6

God responds to faith that moves, seeks, and obeys. His Kingdom advances in hearts willing to trust Him fully.

To embrace God’s Kingdom this week is a real decision with real consequences. God has revealed His authority, proven His faithfulness, and called you to respond. Unbelief is not a lack of evidence. It is often a refusal to surrender. The Kingdom is near and the call has been made. What remains is whether you will obey.

Tony writes not as one who has arrived, but as one continually confronted by Scripture and unwilling to soften what God has revealed. A man after His Father's heart, his life is shaped by a relentless pursuit of truth over tradition, obedience over feelings, and Semper Fidelis to Christ above cultural or religious consensus. He approaches authorship as stewardship, believing words carry eternal consequence and that clarity, even when costly, is an act of love.
